1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to reforgeextensions.com and to browser extensions published by ReForge Extensions that link to this policy from their Chrome Web Store listing, extension UI, or support materials.
If a specific extension provides an additional product-specific disclosure, that disclosure supplements this policy for that extension. If there is a conflict, the product-specific disclosure controls for that product.
2. Data We Collect and Why
2.1 Website Request and Security Data
- When you visit our website, Cloudflare or similar infrastructure components may process standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL, referrer, and security event data.
- We process that data only to deliver the website, cache content, block abuse, troubleshoot failures, and maintain service security.
2.2 Support Contact Data
- If you contact us by email, we collect the email address you use, the name or signature you provide, your message content, and any attachments you choose to send.
- We use that data only to respond to your request, investigate support issues, or keep a record of the conversation.
2.3 Extension Configuration Data
- Covered extensions may store settings, preferences, feature toggles, and other configuration data locally in your browser using Chrome browser storage APIs such as chrome.storage.local or chrome.storage.sync.
- That data is required so the extension can remember your chosen settings and provide the feature you enabled. We do not need that configuration data on our own servers for the extension to work unless a product-specific disclosure says otherwise.
2.4 Temporary Page Data Needed to Perform the Requested Feature
- Some extensions may temporarily access the current tab, page URL, page DOM, selected text, or similar page content when you trigger a feature on that page.
- That access is limited to what is necessary to execute the user-requested action. Unless a product-specific disclosure clearly says otherwise, the page data is processed locally in the browser and not sent to our servers.
2.5 Data We Do Not Collect by Default
- We do not intentionally collect browsing history across unrelated sites, passwords, payment card numbers, private messages, or keystrokes through the covered extensions unless a product-specific disclosure explicitly says otherwise.
- We do not use covered extension data for advertising, profiling, or resale.
3. Storage Location and Retention
3.1 Extension Configuration Data
- Storage location: locally in your browser on the user device using Chrome browser storage APIs such as chrome.storage.local or chrome.storage.sync.
- Retention period: until the user changes the setting, clears browser storage, or uninstalls the extension.
- Server retention: we do not keep that configuration data in our own server-side database unless a product-specific disclosure says otherwise.
3.2 Temporary Page Data
- Storage location: transient browser memory while the requested action is being performed.
- Retention period: only for the duration of the action or page session, after which the data is intended to be discarded.
- Server retention: we do not store that temporary page data on our servers unless a product-specific disclosure says otherwise.
3.3 Website Request and Security Logs
- Storage location: infrastructure and security providers such as Cloudflare.
- Retention period: up to 30 days, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, resolve an incident, or comply with legal obligations.
3.4 Support Email Records
- Storage location: our email routing and mailbox providers.
- Retention period: up to 24 months after the last support interaction, unless a longer period is required by law or needed to resolve an ongoing dispute.
3.5 Transmission Security and General Retention Statement
- Any data transmitted to our servers or infrastructure providers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.
- We retain data only as long as necessary to provide the service, resolve support or security issues, comply with legal obligations, or until the user clears browser storage or uninstalls the extension, depending on the data type.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
4.1 Cloudflare
- Purpose: website delivery, DNS, TLS termination, caching, and security filtering.
- Data involved: IP address, request URL, user agent, referrer, timestamp, and security event data needed to serve and protect the website.
- Policy: Cloudflare processes that data under its own privacy terms and security controls.
4.2 Email Routing and Mailbox Providers
- Purpose: receive and deliver messages sent to [email protected] and allow us to respond to support requests.
- Data involved: sender and recipient email addresses, message headers, message body, attachments, and routing metadata.
- Policy: those providers process support email data only to route, store, and deliver support communications.
4.3 Services We Do Not Currently Use in This Website Build
- We do not currently use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Stripe, Sentry, PostHog, Mixpanel, or similar analytics, payments, or crash-reporting SDKs in this website build or in the default covered-extension policy described here.
- If a specific extension later uses an additional third-party provider, that extension will need a product-specific disclosure identifying the provider, the data involved, the purpose, and the retention period.
5. Sharing of Data
- We may share website request data with Cloudflare or similar infrastructure providers only to deliver and secure the website.
- We may share support email data with our email routing and mailbox providers only to receive, store, and respond to support messages.
- We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
- We may transfer information as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
- Other than the limited cases listed above, we do not share covered extension data with outside parties for their independent advertising or marketing purposes.
6. No Sale of Data
We do not sell, trade, or rent user personal information to others. The data is not used for credit-worthiness or for any lending purposes.
We do not license, rent, or provide covered extension data to data brokers, ad networks, or other third parties for their own commercial use.
7. Data Minimization and Purpose Limitation
- Storage permission is used only to save extension settings that are required for the extension to remember how you configured it.
- activeTab or host permissions are used only to access the page or site necessary to perform the feature you requested.
- If an extension reads page content, selected text, or the current URL, it does so only because that information is necessary to complete the requested action on that page.
- We do not access more site data than is necessary for the requested feature, and we do not reuse that data for advertising, profiling, or unrelated analytics.
8. Extension Permissions
- The exact permissions vary by extension and are listed on that extension's Chrome Web Store page.
- Permissions such as storage are used to persist configuration data in the browser.
- Permissions such as activeTab or limited host access are used only when the extension needs access to the current page or a specific site to execute the user-requested feature.
- Permissions are not intended to be used for unrelated tracking, behavioral advertising, or resale of user data.
9. Your Choices
- You can stop using a covered extension at any time by disabling or uninstalling it.
- You can remove locally stored extension settings by clearing browser storage or resetting the extension, where supported.
- You can choose not to email us. If you email us and want the correspondence deleted, contact [email protected].
10. International Processing
Our providers may process data on infrastructure located in the United States and other countries. By using the site or contacting us, you understand that the information described in this policy may be processed in those locations, subject to applicable law.
11. Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the covered services. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will review the request promptly.
12. Changes
We may update this policy when our practices, legal obligations, or products change. We will update the effective date on this page when we do.
13. Contact
Questions, support requests, or privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].
