Product-Specific Privacy Policy

AudioLift Volume Booster

This notice explains how AudioLift handles the selected tab's live audio stream, local Web Audio processing, current-tab metadata, remembered website rules, settings, success counters, Reviews, product configuration requests, limited operational events, and support communications. It supplements the general ReForge Extensions privacy policy.

Effective: July 21, 2026 Updated: July 21, 2026 Item ID: ofpkgdbliijejmomdgcdhneddcjbplcj Product page
Audio stays on the device

The selected tab stream is processed through Chrome's Web Audio API. AudioLift does not record, save, export, or upload the audio stream.

Site memory is local

A normalized hostname and preferred level are stored only when you choose to remember that website. Page URLs and titles are not included in product analytics.

Operational events are limited

Install/update, explicit boost/settings, and Review events can be sent with product, version, installation, browser, language, result, and action metadata.

Prominent disclosure for selected-tab audio

When you turn on amplification, AudioLift requests Chrome's live audio stream for the tab you selected. The stream is routed inside an extension offscreen document through a gain stage, optional clarity-protection compressor, real signal analyser, and the normal local audio output.

AudioLift does not convert that stream into an audio file, retain audio samples in Chrome storage, upload the stream to ReForge, or include audio/media content in operational events. With the default release setting, returning to 100%, turning AudioLift off, stopping the tab, stopping all tabs, closing a captured tab, or disabling the extension closes the relevant local audio resources.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use statement

AudioLift uses user data only to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the tab-audio features the user requests. We do not sell user data. We do not use or transfer user data for personalized advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, data brokerage, credit-worthiness, lending, or unrelated profiling.

1. Scope and controller

This policy applies specifically to the AudioLift Volume Booster Chrome extension, including its popup, options page, onboarding page, background service worker, offscreen audio engine, toolbar badge, remembered-site rules, keyboard command, Reviews flow, product SDK, and related support requests.

ReForge Extensions controls the extension's first-party data practices. Privacy and support requests can be sent to [email protected]. The general policy at /privacy.html also applies unless this product-specific notice is more specific.

2. Data the extension processes

Category Examples Source and purpose Storage or transmission
Selected-tab audio stream Live sound produced by the tab on which you explicitly activate AudioLift Used to amplify the complete tab output, apply clarity protection, and calculate a live output meter Processed in browser memory through Web Audio. Not recorded, stored, exported, or transmitted to ReForge/Aliyun.
Current-tab metadata Tab ID, URL, title, supported-page status, and normalized hostname Used locally to identify the selected tab, label the popup, determine whether capture is allowed, and manage optional site memory Title and URL remain transient. A normalized hostname is stored only for a remembered site rule. These fields are not included in explicit analytics events.
Audio settings Interface language, default/max volume, clarity protection, capture release, site-rule restoration, and badge preference Selected by you in the popup or options page Stored in chrome.storage.local on the device.
Remembered website rules Normalized hostname, saved volume, enabled state, and update timestamp Created or removed when you use Remember for this site or delete a rule Stored in chrome.storage.local. Not sent in AudioLift's action analytics.
Local usage state Successful boost count, last-success time, installation time, Review count/status, and dismissal time Used to show a local success count and ensure Review prompts respect usage and installation-age rules Stored in chrome.storage.local.
Product SDK state Random installation UUID/time, encrypted product configuration cache, Review state, and device/account state if those capabilities are enabled and used Supports product configuration, announcements, Reviews, and the ReForge product-service bridge Stored under product-specific SDK keys in chrome.storage.local. The current AudioLift UI does not require an account.
Operational and product events Install/update, event time/category/action, product ID, version, random installation UUID/time, browser/OS/language, free/paid classification, result, source, selected volume, setting category, and error category Generated by the ReForge product SDK and AudioLift's explicit boost/settings actions Can be sent to the ReForge Aliyun Simple Log Service endpoint for operation, reliability, troubleshooting, security, and product improvement.
Review events and voluntary feedback Shown/dismissed/redirected status, cumulative count, selected stars, and an optional 1โ€“3 star improvement reason up to 500 characters Generated by the Review dialog after eligibility rules are met and only after you interact with it Review events can be transmitted as operational events. Typed low-rating feedback is not saved in the extension's local Review state.
Support and website request data Email address, message, attachments, IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer, timestamp, and security event data Collected only when you contact support or visit the ReForge website/privacy page Processed by email providers and website infrastructure such as Cloudflare.

3. Chrome permissions and host access

Permission Why it is required Privacy boundary
activeTab Scope amplification to the tab on which you invoked AudioLift Used for the active, user-selected tab rather than background access to unrelated sites.
tabCapture Obtain the selected tab's live audio stream The stream is processed locally and is not recorded or uploaded.
storage Remember audio preferences, site rules, counters, installation time, SDK state, and Review state Product settings and rules use local extension storage rather than a ReForge settings database.
offscreen Host the Web Audio graph because an MV3 service worker cannot own the required DOM/audio context The offscreen page exists for the local audio pipeline and does not display or crawl web content.
tabs Identify the active tab, read its URL/title locally, maintain per-tab capture state, clear badges, release closed-tab resources, and open extension pages AudioLift does not create a cross-site browsing-history profile or transmit URLs/titles through its explicit action events.
https://api.reforgeextensions.com/* Fetch product configuration/announcements and support a product-service/payment-success return bridge The host does not receive selected-tab audio, media content, page title, hostname, or URL from AudioLift's core workflow.

AudioLift does not request <all_urls>, cookies, browsing history, bookmarks, downloads, browsingData, clipboard, or arbitrary scripting permissions. It does not inject a content script into ordinary websites. The packaged payment-success script is scoped only to api.reforgeextensions.com.

4. Local storage and device processing

5. Network destinations and third-party processors

ReForge product service

api.reforgeextensions.com can provide encrypted product configuration, announcements, product/account state, Reviews support, and a payment-success bridge if those capabilities are enabled. The core tab amplification feature is designed to continue when this service is unavailable.

Alibaba Cloud / Aliyun Simple Log Service

With operational logging enabled, the ReForge product SDK can send install/update, explicit boost/settings, and Review events to an Aliyun SLS endpoint. These events can contain the operational fields listed in Section 2. AudioLift's explicit event calls are designed not to include page URLs, hostnames, titles, webpage bodies, audio samples, media content, passwords, or payment-card information.

Google Chrome

Chrome supplies tab-capture, extension storage, offscreen document, tabs, action badge, and Web Audio capabilities. Chrome may display a capture indicator while a tab stream is active. Google's processing is governed by its own terms.

Website and support providers

Cloudflare or similar infrastructure can process standard website request and security metadata. Email routing and mailbox providers process information you choose to send to support.

6. Retention

7. Sharing, sale, and advertising

8. Security

9. Your controls

10. Compatibility and user awareness

Chrome internal pages, the Chrome Web Store, protected DRM media, and some enterprise-managed tabs can block capture. Chrome may show a capture or sharing-style indicator while tab capture is active; that browser indicator does not mean AudioLift is uploading the audio stream. Turning AudioLift off releases the stream.

High gain can amplify source noise and can be uncomfortable or unsafe at excessive listening levels. Clarity Protection reduces some clipping behavior but cannot repair a poor source or determine a safe level for every speaker, headset, listener, and recording.

11. Children

AudioLift is a general audio utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly use the extension to collect children's personal information. If you believe a child has provided first-party service data, contact us so we can review and delete it where applicable.

12. Policy changes and contact

We may update this notice when AudioLift's permissions, audio pipeline, providers, storage, Reviews, or data practices change. The page will show a new Last Updated date. Material changes may also be communicated through the extension, Chrome Web Store listing, or website where appropriate.
