Product-specific privacy policy
Gemini Workspace
This notice explains exactly how Gemini Workspace handles Gemini page content, local workspace data, chat cleanup, image watermark removal, exports, optional AI prompt actions, operational events, and Reviews.
Supported Gemini image bytes are handled by code and models packaged with the extension. They are not uploaded to ReForge for watermark removal.
Prompt text is sent to the ReForge API only when you explicitly choose Improve Prompt or Fix Grammar. Ordinary Gemini chats and exports are not sent for that feature.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Chrome extension Gemini Workspace, published
by ReForge Extensions under Chrome Web Store Item ID
mmnooflpocbeoejhkplkhbgocbbahfie. ReForge Extensions is the controller for
the limited product-service, operational-event, Reviews, website, and support data
described below.
Gemini Workspace is an independent extension and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google. Google and Gemini are trademarks of Google LLC.
2. How the extension works
Gemini Workspace adds a right-side toolbar and related popup, settings, welcome, and manual image pages. The extension can organize Gemini conversations, store reusable prompts, queue follow-up prompts, keep notes, navigate long chats, export conversations, remove supported image watermarks, and perform user-confirmed cleanup of visible old chats.
3. Data handled by Gemini Workspace
3.1 Local settings and workspace content
The extension may store the following data in Chrome local extension storage:
- Module switches, interface language, cleanup safety settings, export format, image format, canvas preset, and Downloads subfolder choices.
- User-created folder names and colors, saved Gemini conversation titles and URLs, prompt templates, prompt variables, prompt chains, quick actions, and queued follow-up text.
- Per-chat notes, local trash items, workspace backup data, daily AI usage state, operation counters, announcements, and recent locally captured export snapshots.
This data is used to provide the workspace you configured. It is not placed in Chrome Sync. You can export a local backup, import a backup, reset settings, or clear the entire workspace from the extension.
3.2 Gemini page content
On gemini.google.com, the extension may temporarily read or interact with:
- The current prompt input and text you explicitly select.
- The current conversation title, URL, user messages, and Gemini responses needed for notes, navigation, quoting, current-chat export, or an export you requested.
- Conversation titles and links currently visible in the Gemini sidebar so you can organize or select them.
- Gemini's own conversation menu and confirmation controls when you start a batch cleanup.
- Gemini's image download action and supported official Google image URLs.
The extension does not request access to unrelated websites. It does not use the Gemini page permission to collect a cross-site browsing history, passwords, payment card data, or unrelated form entries.
3.3 Chat cleanup
Chat cleanup starts only after you open the cleanup tool, select conversations, review protected recent items, and confirm deletion. The extension scans only chats currently visible in the Gemini sidebar and uses Gemini's native menu one item at a time. Titles, URLs, progress state, and failure categories are used locally to complete and report the requested cleanup.
3.4 Image watermark removal
Automatic processing starts only around an explicit Gemini full-size image Download action while Image Watermark Removal is enabled. The source is limited to supported official Google or Googleusercontent image hosts. The extension's packaged masks, routing model, image algorithm, and quality checks run locally in the browser.
- Image bytes are not uploaded to ReForge for watermark removal.
- The extension can locally convert the result to PNG, WebP, or JPEG, apply a chosen canvas preset, and save it to a chosen subfolder under Downloads.
- If detection or the quality check does not pass, the extension keeps the original image rather than silently replacing it with an unreliable result.
- The manual page accepts a local image you select and processes it in the extension page, including optional local brush touch-up.
3.5 Conversation exports and workspace backups
Markdown, TXT, PDF, DOCX, and HTML exports are generated by the extension and saved through Chrome Downloads. An export can contain the complete conversation title, URL, user messages, Gemini responses, and formatting you asked to export. Workspace backups can contain your local folders, prompts, chains, quick actions, notes, history, and settings. These files are saved to your device and are not automatically uploaded to ReForge.
When you request an export of saved conversations that are not currently open, the
extension may use the tabs permission to open an inactive Gemini tab, read
that requested conversation after it loads, and close the temporary tab.
3.6 Optional AI prompt actions
If you click Improve Prompt or Fix Grammar, the current
prompt text and an instruction identifying the requested operation are sent over HTTPS
to api.reforgeextensions.com. The service returns rewritten text and
remaining daily usage information. The request is not made merely because you type in
Gemini. Image bytes, complete conversation exports, and unrelated browsing content are
not included in this AI request.
3.7 Product lifecycle, operation events, and Reviews
The packaged ReForge SDK can send limited operational data for installation, update, optional AI use, selected download or settings outcomes, and the Reviews experience. Depending on the event and whether an account session exists, fields can include:
- Product ID, extension ID, extension version, a stable random install UUID, install time, event category, operation, result, and timestamp.
- Browser type, operating-system category, interface language, subscription type, and an account email if the user has explicitly logged into a ReForge account flow.
- For image and export outcomes, limited configuration such as requested file format, algorithm configuration key, file extension, or a skip/failure reason.
- After the configured successful-action threshold, whether a Reviews prompt was shown or dismissed, the star rating selected, and an optional reason the user explicitly submits with a low rating.
Operational events are designed not to include image bytes, full chat content, prompt text, complete media URLs, or the contents of exported files.
3.8 Website and support data
If you visit this website, Cloudflare or comparable infrastructure may process standard request and security metadata such as IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer, timestamp, and security-event information. If you email support, the email provider processes your address, message, attachments, and routing metadata so ReForge can respond.
4. Chrome permissions and host access
| Permission or host | Why it is needed | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
storage |
Save settings, workspace content, counters, usage state, and SDK install state. | Uses extension-local storage; workspace data is not stored in Chrome Sync. |
downloads |
Save chat exports, backups, and processed images; choose safe filenames and subfolders. | Runs for files the user asks the extension to create or for an explicit supported Gemini image download. |
tabs |
Find or open Gemini, send commands to a Gemini tab, and temporarily load requested saved chats for export. | Does not create a general browsing-history database or inspect unrelated tab content. |
https://gemini.google.com/* |
Inject the workspace toolbar and perform the Gemini-specific features described above. | Limited to Gemini pages. |
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/* and https://lh3.google.com/* |
Read supported Gemini-generated image downloads for local watermark removal. | Used only for supported image download URLs and not for general Google-account collection. |
https://api.reforgeextensions.com/* |
Load product service configuration, provide explicit AI prompt actions, and support SDK service flows. | Does not receive image bytes or complete chat exports for normal workspace functions. |
5. Third-party processors and platforms
- Google Gemini and Google image hosts: provide the page and source media the user is already using. Google's own terms govern the Gemini service itself.
- Google Chrome and Chrome Web Store: provide extension runtime, permissions, local storage, tab controls, downloads, installation, updates, and store Reviews.
- ReForge API: provides product configuration, explicit AI prompt processing, and SDK-related service functions.
- Alibaba Cloud Log Service: can process the limited lifecycle, operation, AI, and Reviews event fields described in Section 3.7.
- Cloudflare: provides website delivery, DNS, TLS, caching, and security filtering for ReForge web properties.
- Email routing and mailbox providers: deliver and store support messages sent to [email protected].
6. Retention and deletion
- Local workspace data: remains in Chrome local extension storage until you edit it, use the extension's clear/reset controls, clear extension storage, or uninstall the extension.
- Downloaded exports, backups, and images: remain on your device after uninstalling the extension until you delete those files yourself.
- Transient page and image data: is held only as needed to complete the active page action, export, or image download transaction.
- ReForge API and Aliyun operational records: are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, enforce usage limits, secure the product, investigate abuse or failures, and satisfy legal obligations. A fixed number of days is not asserted where it cannot be verified from the extension package.
- Website security logs: may be retained by Cloudflare for up to 30 days unless longer retention is necessary for an incident, abuse investigation, or law.
- Support email: may be retained for up to 24 months after the last support interaction unless an open dispute or legal obligation requires longer.
7. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Gemini Workspace's use and transfer of information received from Google services complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
- Data is used only to provide or improve the user-facing extension features.
- Data is not sold or transferred to data brokers.
- Data is not used for personalized advertising, retargeting, unrelated profiling, creditworthiness, lending, or insurance decisions.
- Humans do not read Gemini content except when the user deliberately includes relevant content in a support request, when required for security or abuse investigation with appropriate controls, or when required by law.
8. Security and remote-code boundary
Network requests use HTTPS/TLS. Gemini sender URLs, supported image hosts, transaction IDs, filenames, and download folders are validated or normalized before privileged actions. The image watermark-removal logic, masks, routing model, and processing code are included in the extension package. Gemini Workspace does not download remotely hosted JavaScript, WebAssembly, or image-processing models to operate.
9. Your controls and choices
- Turn off individual modules or disable the full extension from Popup or Settings.
- Keep Image Watermark Removal off unless you want it to handle supported downloads.
- Do not use Improve Prompt or Fix Grammar if you do not want prompt text sent to the ReForge API.
- Review selected chats and protected recent items before starting batch cleanup.
- Export a local workspace backup before clearing data, or clear all workspace data from Settings.
- Disable or uninstall the extension at any time through Chrome.
- Request assistance with server-side operational, account, Reviews, or support data by emailing [email protected].
Uninstalling removes extension-local storage through Chrome but does not delete files already saved in Downloads or messages already sent to support.
10. Children, international processing, and changes
Gemini Workspace is not directed to children under 13, and ReForge does not knowingly collect personal information from children through this extension. Service providers may process the limited server-side data described in this policy in the United States, China, and other countries where they operate, subject to applicable law and contractual or technical safeguards.
This notice may be updated when the extension's features, permissions, service providers, or legal obligations change. The updated date at the top of this page will change when a material revision is published.
