This privacy policy applies specifically to the browser extension CRX Downloader & Reviews Exporter by ReForge Extensions and explains what user data is collected, how it is processed, where it is stored, and when it is shared.
Prominent Privacy Disclosure Summary
Core purpose: the extension lets you download Chrome extension packages as CRX/ZIP when technically available, convert CRX files to ZIP, and export publicly available Chrome Web Store reviews to CSV or JSON.
Data collected or processed: Chrome Web Store extension IDs and listing URLs you choose, public package/listing metadata, public review data, export settings, local task history, downloaded/converted files handled in your browser, limited product usage events, and support messages you voluntarily send.
Aliyun event logging: to understand product behavior and troubleshoot failures, the extension sends limited usage events to ReForge-controlled Alibaba Cloud / Aliyun Simple Log Service (SLS) when you install, open, or use product features, such as install/open events, feature clicks, download/export/conversion start or success/failure events, error category, extension version, browser/operating system/language, timestamps, random installation or session identifiers, selected export format, counts, and the Chrome Web Store extension ID or listing URL involved in the user-requested task. These logs are not used for advertising or sold to third parties.
Not collected for analytics: we do not intentionally send CRX file contents, ZIP file contents, exported CSV/JSON file contents, passwords, payment card numbers, private messages, authentication secrets, or full browsing history to Aliyun SLS or to ReForge.
Limited Use statement: CRX Downloader & Reviews Exporter uses user data only to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve its single purpose: downloading and converting extension package files requested by the user and exporting public Chrome Web Store review data requested by the user. We do not use or transfer user data for personalized advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, data brokerage, or credit-worthiness decisions.
1. Scope and Controller
This product-specific privacy policy applies to CRX Downloader & Reviews Exporter, its extension UI, local conversion/export actions, product usage event logging, and support requests related to this extension. The main ReForge Extensions privacy policy at /privacy.html still applies unless this product-specific policy is more specific.

2. What User Data the Extension Collects or Processes
The extension processes the following categories of user data only for the purposes described in this policy.

3. Data We Do Not Intentionally Collect
- We do not intentionally collect passwords, authentication tokens, payment-card numbers, private messages, email inbox content, or private files from unrelated websites.
- We do not collect your full browsing history across unrelated websites. The extension processes only the active Chrome Web Store listing or extension ID/URL you choose to use with the tool.
- We do not require a ReForge account, login, payment card, or subscription for the core CRX download, ZIP conversion, or review export features described in this policy.
- We do not collect private review data. Review exports are based on public review information available from Chrome Web Store or related public endpoints for the listing you choose.
- We do not intentionally upload CRX files, ZIP files, or generated CSV/JSON review export file contents to ReForge or Aliyun SLS. If you send such files to support voluntarily, we will process them only to answer your request.
4. How Data Is Collected
- User input: You may paste or type a Chrome Web Store URL, extension ID, export filter, or file format choice.
- Active tab detection: If you run the extension on a Chrome Web Store listing, the extension may read the active tab URL and visible listing context to identify the requested extension.
- Chrome Web Store and Google requests: The extension may request extension package files, listing metadata, and public review data from Chrome Web Store, Google, or related endpoints from your browser.
- Local conversion/export: The extension may convert CRX data to ZIP and generate CSV/JSON export files locally in your browser.
- Local storage: The extension stores preferences, local task state, and recent extension IDs using Chrome extension storage on your device.
- Product analytics events: When the extension is installed, opened, or used, it sends the limited product usage events listed in Section 2 to Alibaba Cloud / Aliyun SLS for product analytics, reliability monitoring, troubleshooting, and security.
- Support email: We collect support data only when you choose to email us or send attachments.
- Website infrastructure: Our website providers collect request and security logs when you visit this privacy page or other pages on reforgeextensions.com.
5. How Data Is Used and Processed
- To identify the Chrome Web Store extension listing you selected.
- To download the requested CRX file or provide a ZIP file when technically available.
- To convert a CRX package to ZIP locally when you request conversion.
- To retrieve, display, paginate, filter, and export public review data to CSV or JSON.
- To remember local preferences and recent task state.
- To create limited product analytics about feature use, success/failure rates, and error categories.
- To troubleshoot failed downloads, conversions, exports, or compatibility issues.
- To investigate abuse, protect the extension and website, and maintain service reliability.
- To respond to support and privacy requests you send to us.
- To deliver and protect reforgeextensions.com and this privacy page.
We do not use this data to build advertising profiles, show personalized ads, retarget users, sell data, broker data, or make credit-worthiness or lending decisions.
6. Storage and Retention
6.1 Local browser storage
- Storage location: Chrome extension storage on your device.
- Data involved: Settings, selected export fields, recent extension IDs/URLs, local job state, and UI preferences.
- Retention: Until you delete the data in the extension, clear browser/extension storage, reset the extension, or uninstall the extension.
6.2 Downloaded and exported files
- Storage location: The download folder or file location selected by you through your browser or operating system.
- Data involved: CRX files, ZIP files, CSV review exports, JSON review exports, and any files you create with the extension.
- Retention: Controlled by you. ReForge does not automatically delete files saved on your device.
6.3 Chrome Web Store / Google requests
- Storage location: Chrome Web Store, Google, or related endpoint logs may process request metadata when your browser requests package or review data.
- Retention: Governed by Google and Chrome Web Store policies, not by ReForge.
6.4 Aliyun SLS product usage event logs
- Storage location: ReForge-controlled Alibaba Cloud / Aliyun Simple Log Service (SLS) log project.
- Data involved: Product usage and analytics events described in Section 2, plus network metadata visible to the logging service.
- Retention: Up to 180 days unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for security investigation, abuse prevention, dispute handling, legal compliance, or backup integrity. Aggregated statistics that no longer identify a user or installation may be retained longer.
6.5 Support communications
- Storage location: ReForge Extensions support mailbox and email providers.
- Retention: Up to 24 months after the support conversation ends unless a longer period is required for legal, security, dispute, or abuse-prevention reasons.
6.6 Website request and security logs
- Storage location: Website hosting, CDN, DNS, or security providers such as Cloudflare.
- Retention: Up to 30 days unless a longer period is reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, resolve incidents, or comply with law.
7. Sharing and Transfers of User Data
We do not sell, rent, trade, or transfer user data to data brokers, information resellers, ad networks, or unrelated third parties. CRX Downloader & Reviews Exporter is designed so file conversion and export generation happen locally in your browser by default. Data may be shared only with the following parties for the reasons below.

8. Third-Party Services
- Chrome Web Store and Google: Used to retrieve public extension listing metadata, package files, and public review data for the extension listing you choose.
- Chrome browser and extension APIs: Used to run the extension, read the active tab URL when you invoke the tool, store local preferences, and save files through the browser download flow.
- Alibaba Cloud / Aliyun Simple Log Service (SLS): Used for limited product usage event logging, reliability monitoring, troubleshooting, and security/abuse investigation.
- Cloudflare or similar website infrastructure providers: Used only for delivery, DNS, TLS, caching, and security for reforgeextensions.com.
- Email routing and mailbox providers: Used only to receive and respond to support messages you send.
Other than Aliyun SLS event logging described in this policy, CRX Downloader & Reviews Exporter does not currently use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Stripe, Sentry, PostHog, Mixpanel, advertising SDKs, data brokers, or payment processors.
9. Data Security
- Local extension data is stored through Chrome extension storage on your device.
- CRX-to-ZIP conversion and CSV/JSON export generation are designed to run locally in your browser.
- Requests to Chrome Web Store, Google, Aliyun SLS, support systems, or reforgeextensions.com use HTTPS/TLS where supported.
- Aliyun SLS event logs are limited to product usage and diagnostic information; CRX/ZIP/export file contents are not intentionally sent to these logs.
- We limit access to support communications and event logs to people or processors who need access to operate, troubleshoot, secure, or support the extension.
10. User Choices, Consent, and Deletion
- You can stop collection related to a task by not entering a Chrome Web Store URL/extension ID and not running a download, conversion, or review export task.
- You can delete local extension data by clearing the extension's local data, clearing browser extension storage, resetting the extension if the UI provides that option, or uninstalling the extension.
- You control downloaded CRX/ZIP files and exported CSV/JSON files saved to your device. You can delete those files using your browser, file manager, or operating system.
- If the extension provides an analytics or product improvement opt-out setting, you can use that setting to stop optional product analytics events after the setting takes effect. Core security, abuse-prevention, and error logs that are necessary to operate the extension may still be generated.
- You can stop future extension event logging by disabling or uninstalling the extension.
- You can avoid support-email processing by not sending exported files, screenshots, or troubleshooting details to us.
- You can request deletion of support emails or ask whether we can delete identifiable event logs by contacting [email protected]. We may need information such as your approximate event time, extension version, or installation/session identifier to locate specific logs.
11. Limited Use Compliance
- Allowed use: We use user data only to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the extension's single purpose and user-facing features.
- Allowed transfer: We transfer user data only when necessary to provide or improve the extension, process requested Chrome Web Store data, operate event logging infrastructure, comply with law, protect security, respond to support you initiated, or complete a merger/acquisition/sale of assets.
- No advertising use: We do not use or transfer user data for personalized ads, retargeting, interest-based advertising, ad measurement, data brokerage, or sale of user data.
- No unrelated human review: We do not allow humans to read exported review files or troubleshooting details unless you intentionally send that information to support, it is required for security or legal reasons, or it is necessary for internal operations with appropriate access controls.
12. In-Product Disclosure Text
To make this privacy policy easy to understand inside the extension, the extension should summarize the same disclosure in its user interface before or during use of product event logging:
"CRX Downloader & Reviews Exporter processes the Chrome Web Store extension ID or URL you choose, public package/listing metadata, public review data, local export settings, and limited product usage events. Usage events may be sent to Alibaba Cloud / Aliyun SLS for product analytics, troubleshooting, reliability, and security. We do not sell data or use it for ads, and we do not intentionally upload your CRX/ZIP files or exported CSV/JSON contents."
13. Children
CRX Downloader & Reviews Exporter is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this extension.
14. Changes
We may update this policy when the extension, our practices, or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date or last updated date when we make material changes.
