Product-Specific Privacy Policy
VK Dzen Video Saver
Effective date: June 24, 2026
VK Dzen Video Saver is a Chrome extension that helps users detect and download video files that are already available to the current browser tab on supported websites such as VK, VK Video, VKontakte, VK Clips, VK Video Live, and Dzen.
We design the extension to process video detection and download history primarily inside your browser. This Privacy Policy explains what data the extension accesses, what is stored locally, what may be sent to our servers or service providers, and how you can control your data.

1. Data the extension accesses
To provide its core features, the extension may access the following information in supported browser tabs:
- The current page URL and page title.
- Video metadata detected on supported pages, such as video title, source site, available qualities, media file URLs, and detection time.
- Download request details, such as selected quality, generated filename, download status, and download time.
- Extension settings, such as language, default quality, filename template, Save As preference, confirmation preference, history retention, and interface options.
- Basic subscription or account information if you choose to log in or subscribe, such as email address, subscription status, plan, authentication token, and device identifier.
The extension does not intentionally collect the contents of unrelated web pages, form fields, messages, contacts, passwords, or files on your computer.
2. Local storage in your browser
The extension stores the following data locally using Chrome extension storage:
- Extension settings.
- Local download history, including title, source page URL, media URL, quality, filename, status, and timestamps.
- Download statistics, such as total downloads and counts by site or quality.
- Review prompt state, such as whether a review reminder has been shown or dismissed.
- Payment/login cache if paid features are enabled, such as account email, authentication token, encrypted product configuration, cached user info, and a locally generated device ID.
Local download history and statistics stay in your browser unless you export them yourself or delete them. You can clear download history from the extension interface. You can also remove all extension data by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension storage in Chrome.
3. Data sent outside your browser
Most video detection and download operations run locally in your browser. However, the extension may send limited data outside your browser for the following purposes:
Payment, subscription, and license services
If you log in, subscribe, open the customer portal, request a password reset, or check account status, the extension
communicates with https://api.reforgeextensions.com. Data sent for these actions may include:
- Email address.
- Password during login, transmitted to the authentication service.
- Product ID.
- Selected subscription plan.
- Locally generated device ID.
- Authentication token for account requests.
- Payment session or portal request information.
Product configuration
The extension may request product configuration from https://api.reforgeextensions.com, such as whether paid
features are enabled, available plans, prices, and subscription UI settings.
Basic event logging
When event logging is enabled, the extension may send basic product events to our logging service, including events such as initialization, configuration fetch status, install/update, download button click, download success, review prompt events, product ID, extension version, browser type, operating system type, language, install time, anonymous install UUID, subscription status, and, when available from account context, account email.
For download click/success events, the extension may include a local video identifier and selected quality. These logs are used to understand feature usage, diagnose issues, and improve the product.
4. Video URLs and download history
The extension records video URLs and source page URLs in local download history so that you can review and export your own history. The extension does not upload your full browsing history, local download history, or detected video URL list to our servers as part of the core download feature.
If you choose to export history, the exported JSON or CSV file is created locally in your browser and downloaded by Chrome. You control where that file is stored and whether it is shared.
5. Permissions used by the extension
The extension uses the following Chrome permissions:
storage: to save settings, local download history, statistics, review prompt state, and account/payment cache.downloads: to start downloads through the standard Chrome Downloads manager and track download status.activeTab: to interact with the currently active tab when you use the extension.- Supported website access: to detect available video sources and add download buttons on supported VK, VK Video, VKontakte, VK Clips, VK Video Live, and Dzen pages.
