Product-Specific Privacy Policy
Tab Cookie Sentinel
Effective Date: July 12, 2026 | Last Updated: July 12, 2026
This privacy policy applies specifically to the Chrome extension Tab Cookie Sentinel by ReForge Extensions. It explains how the extension processes cookies, website host information, extension settings, optional browser-storage cleanup, and limited operational event data.
Prominent Privacy Disclosure Summary
Core purpose: Tab Cookie Sentinel automatically removes cookies for a website after you close that website's final tab, while allowing you to protect trusted domains, exact hosts, or temporary sites.
Cookie handling: the extension uses Chrome's cookies API locally to identify and remove matching cookies. Chrome may provide cookie records to the extension with fields such as domain, name, path, store ID, secure/expiry attributes, and partition attributes. Tab Cookie Sentinel uses the fields needed to match and remove cookies. It does not use, display, log, persist, or transmit cookie values.
Website information: the extension processes the host portion of active and open tab URLs locally to determine whether a website still has an open tab and whether it is protected. It does not read webpage text, page DOM, form inputs, bookmarks, or your browsing history.
Limited operational event logging: the extension may send limited install, update, lifecycle, and cleanup-operation events to ReForge-controlled services and Alibaba Cloud / Aliyun Simple Log Service (SLS). These events can include the extension version, browser/operating-system/language information, timestamps, a random installation/device identifier, event category, cleanup reason, cleanup count, the affected website host, and optional storage-cleanup type. These events are used for reliability, troubleshooting, security, and product improvement, not advertising or data sale.
Optional browser-storage cleanup: if you enable LocalStorage, IndexedDB, cache, or service worker cleanup, Chrome asks for the optional browsingData permission. The extension supplies website origins to Chrome's deletion API but does not read the contents of that storage.
Limited Use statement: Tab Cookie Sentinel uses user data only to provide, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve cookie-cleanup and protection features. We do not use or transfer user data for personalized advertising, retargeting, interest-based advertising, data brokerage, or credit-worthiness decisions.

2. Data the Extension Collects or Processes
| Data category | Examples | How it is collected or processed | Why it is used |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cookie records used for cleanup | Cookie domain, name, path, store ID, secure flag, expiration/session attributes, partition attributes, and other Chrome cookie metadata needed to remove a cookie | Chrome provides cookie records to the extension when it calls the cookies API. The extension matches cookies locally and sends delete requests back to Chrome. | To automatically remove cookies after the final tab for a site closes and to provide the manual cleanup features you select. |
| Cookie values | The value field that may be present in a Chrome cookie record | Chrome may make this field available as part of a cookie record, but Tab Cookie Sentinel's code does not use, display, log, save, or transmit it. | Not used by Tab Cookie Sentinel. |
| Open tab and current-site host information | Current tab URL and host, recently observed tab host, and the hosts of currently open tabs | Processed locally through the tabs API and reduced to normalized website hosts. | To determine whether a website's final tab has closed, show current-site status, run context-menu actions, and apply protection rules. |
| Extension settings and protection lists | Automatic-cleanup setting, delay, scheduled-cleanup interval, protected domains, exact hosts, temporary protection expiry, language preference, and export file prefix | Selected by you in the popup or options page and stored through Chrome extension storage. | To remember your configuration and keep protected sites signed in. |
| Local cleanup activity records | Cleanup host, timestamp, reason, count of removed cookies, optional storage-cleanup types, daily count, total count, and recent cleanup summary | Generated locally after a cleanup action and stored in local Chrome extension storage. | To show cleanup results and counts in the popup and settings page. |
| Optional browser-storage cleanup origins | Website origins submitted to Chrome's browsingData API when you enable optional LocalStorage, IndexedDB, cache, or service-worker cleanup | Generated from the website host you are cleaning after you enable the optional feature and grant Chrome's optional permission. | To ask Chrome to delete selected browser-storage categories for that site. The extension does not read the content of that storage. |
| Configuration import/export files | JSON settings backup containing extension settings, protected-site lists, and temporary-protection expiry times | Selected or downloaded by you through the extension's import/export controls. | To restore or back up your configuration locally. These files are not uploaded by the extension to ReForge or Aliyun SLS. |
| Limited operational event data | Install/update/lifecycle events, cleanup action and reason, affected host, cleanup count, optional cleanup type, extension version, browser/OS/language, timestamps, random installation/device identifier, product ID, and error category if a request fails | Generated by the payment/telemetry SDK and by the extension's cleanup-event calls when the extension is installed, updated, initialized, or used. | To operate product configuration, monitor reliability, troubleshoot errors, investigate abuse or security incidents, and improve product quality. |
| Support and website request data | Email address, message, attachments, screenshots, and details you send to support; IP address, user agent, request URL, referrer, timestamp, and security events for this website | Collected only when you contact us or visit reforgeextensions.com. | To provide support, answer privacy requests, deliver the website, protect against abuse, and resolve incidents. |
3. Data We Do Not Intentionally Collect
- We do not intentionally read, display, persist, or transmit cookie values, passwords, authentication tokens, payment-card numbers, private messages, form inputs, or page text.
- We do not inspect webpage DOM, selected text, bookmarks, or your full browsing history.
- We do not read the contents of LocalStorage, IndexedDB, cache, or service workers when you enable optional browser-storage cleanup. We only ask Chrome to remove the selected categories for the relevant origins.
- We do not sell, rent, trade, or license user data to data brokers, advertisers, ad networks, or other parties for their independent marketing use.
4. Extension Permissions and How We Use Them
| Permission | Use | Privacy boundary |
|---|---|---|
| cookies | Find and remove cookies for the website host being cleaned. | Cookie matching and removal occur locally. Cookie values are not used, displayed, stored, or transmitted. |
| tabs | Determine the current site and whether a website still has an open tab. | The extension reduces tab URLs to hosts for its cleanup logic and does not read webpage content. |
| storage | Save settings, protected-site lists, temporary protection, local cleanup counts, and recent cleanup records. | Data is stored in Chrome extension storage on your device. Syncable settings may be synchronized by Chrome if you enable Chrome sync. |
| alarms | Run optional scheduled cleanup and reset the daily cleanup counter. | Does not grant access to page content. |
| contextMenus | Provide right-click actions to protect or clean the current site. | Uses the current page host only for the action you select. |
| optional browsingData | Clear selected LocalStorage, IndexedDB, cache, file-system cache, or service-worker data for a site. | Requested only after you enable the relevant cleanup setting. The extension does not read the removed storage contents. |
5. Storage Location and Retention
5.1 Local extension settings and cleanup records
- Storage location: Chrome extension storage on your device. Protected-site lists and settings may use Chrome sync storage; activity records use local extension storage.
- Retention: Until you change or delete the data, clear the extension's storage, reset the extension, or uninstall the extension. Recent cleanup records are limited by the extension's local history limit.
